Our College campus is eco-friendly maintained and is spread over 2.2 acres. Spacious and elegant building comprising four floors with each floor over 4180 sq.ft. is provided to run VAPMS College of Physiotherapy. All the infrastructure stipulated and required such as the classrooms, laboratories, library, practical rooms, and waiting rooms are provided. Laboratory equipment is highly adequate surpassing the norms of Dr. Y.S.R. University of Health Sciences and efforts are being made to improve the facilities from time to time. In addition to the clinical training at King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Medical College-Visakhapatnam, two out-patient units (Ortho & Neuro Physiotherapy) were set up in the college premises to treat patients and train the students. Serene and congenial atmosphere for study, interaction with efficient teachers, qualitative education, constant supervision and regular assessment are the hallmarks of V.A.P.M.S.
The College library, has been built to National Standards, with an area of 3000 sq.ft. It is well ventilated. Specialized collections of Books, Journals & Non-book materials are available in Basic Sciences, Physiotherapy, Clinicals and Medical Sciences. There are around 1000 text books, around 100 International & National Journal Copies and approximately 650 UG project books and 100 PG dissertation books for the reference of students. To enhance the digital reading, Kindle E-readers were placed in the Library.
We have access to the Central Library of Dr YSRUHS - YSRMEDNET - Consortium & Digital Library - which provides E-Resources, E-Journals, E-books, etc..,with 24/7 access to quality educational and research material for the students and faculty, enabling them to further develop their knowledge and research.
The College has campus attached spacious hostel which provides pleasant stay at affordable fee. It is managed by our College Management on no loss - no gain principle. We serve delicious and nutritious food under the best hygienic conditions and in a spacious dining hall. The menu is decided by the students’ committee. The menu changes every week as per their interests. Rooms are well ventilated & spacious with executive study table, lockable cupboards for each student and attached toilets. Physical education enables the students to know the founding principles of the Physiotherapy profession and the administration and the management in the modern age. It certainly teaches the values of dedication and discipline. Sports also teaches how to handle failure. Sports involving various motor and sensory activities projects and provides a chance for the physiotherapy students to learn about their subject lively. A sports act in phases allows them to learn about the role of neuromuscular facilitation, the improvement in endurance, agility, skills, strength and coordination. This knowledge can be carried into their physiotherapy clinical practice.
To gain the above benefits from sports, college is provided with good spacious green grounds surrounded by shady trees and flowering plants which allows students to play outdoor sports such as throwball, volley ball, kho-kho, kabbadi, tennikoit, tug of war, running, practice cricket, badminton and also indoor games like table tennis, caroms and chess.
Ragging in any form is banned inside and outside the campus. Strict action is taken against persons flouting this rule; no leniency is shown. Suspension and/or withdrawal from the hostel/ college is the first action against the offender. The Supreme Court of India has also defined ragging as a criminal offense.
Though our campus is zero ragging campus, regular anti-ragging awareness programs are being conducted in our campus under the supervision and support of local Police department officials. Even Anti-ragging committee comprising local Circle Inspector of Police, college faculty, Hostel Incharge, and 4 students (day-scholar & hostel / UG & PG) representing every batch is formed and the related details are displayed in the notice board along with contact numbers.
