c) To invite distinguished professionally eminent personalities from abroad to ensure better interaction with them and share their rich experience and knowledge in medical sciences.
d) To conduct seminars, workshops and arrange guest lectures of reputed faculty members from India and abroad.
e) To afford opportunities for high quality research in the institutions and endeavour to sponsor desirable proven candidates abroad to develop their research skills.
f) To devise ways and means and accord facilities to specialize in all or any of the above subjects.
g) To carry on activities of any other charitable purposes and activities with similar objectives.
h) To assist public by all possible means for elevation of human distress or suffering in any form without any distinction of caste, creed, colour and sex.
i) To maintain and promote welfare service to the physically, mentally handicapped and financially backward people.
j) To find out ways and means of solving the acute scarcity of allied health sector & para medical force in this part of the country as well as the whole.To achieve the above goals, in a humble way our Trust has ventured to start a Physiotherapy College at Visakhapatnam in the year 1999 with the permission of Government of A.P. and affiliated to N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada.
Physiotherapy, one of the ancient medical science of the world is the mode of treating patients who may have movement dysfunction, bodily malfunction, physical disorder or disability, by means of exercises, mobilization, manipulation, electrotherapy and cryotherapy. The treatment assures the patient to regain as independent life from dependant life and rehabilitates the person to his normal life.
Nowadays the importance of Physiotherapy is growing day- by-day. As medical science is advancing, the application of Physiotherapy is extended to super speciality branches like Cardiorespiratory, General Surgery, Women’s Health & Paediatrics, Plastic surgery, Geriatrics, Hand, Foot, ICU, Sports Medicine, TBI, Vestibular, Virtual Rehabilitation and other special branches of medical sciences.
According to the assessment of World Health Organisation,there should be one physiotherapist for every 10,000 People. But at present only 5,000 qualified physiotherapist are available in India. Compared to our population, we still need 95,000 qualified physiotherapists. Similar need for physiotherapists exists in Andhra Pradesh also. 141490.35. After completing the B.P.T. course of 41/2 years duration the professionals will be suitable for placement at different Government, Corporate and Private Hospitals. The Govt. of India is going to start District Rehabilitation Centres very soon under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment where physiotherapists are being recruited.
Physiotherapists are being appointed at various hospitals run by Indian Railways and such other government sectors. Indian Military Academy honours the Physiotherapists with officer ranks in their hospitals. Sports Authority of India appoints Physiotherapists to look after the atheletes and sports professionals. The Indian Airlines is going to appoint physiotherapists under its medical emergency team, Countries like the U.S.A. Canada, Australia, European Union and others are offering high salaries, perks and other incentives for qualified physiotherapists. Scope for post graduation in physiotherapy is available in India as well as abroad.
